Description

Russian Empire: Crimea (now in Ukraine): Alma River. Two sections on one sheet: (i) taken on the line of the route marched by British troops to assault Russian batteries; (ii) of the cliffs stormed by French troops at the Battle of Alma [20 September 1854]. Scale: 1 inch to 100 feet. [By] Brevet Major N Cooke, Royal Engineers.
