French Empire: Quatre Bras (now in Belgium). Four maps on two sheets, showing the progress of military action: (14) 'No IV Plan of the Battle of Quatre Bras fought on the 16th of June 1815 against the French Army by the British and Allied Forces Commanded by Field Marshal H.G. the Duke of Wellington'; (15) 'No I Position of the Allied Army previous to the Attack', 'No II Attack of French Infantry in Columns', 'No III First Attack of the French Cavalry repulsed... [and] Second similar Attack of the French Cuirassiers repulsed ...'. Reference tables to all four maps appear on item (15). Scale: 2.85 inches to 1 mile. Drawn by Lieutenant A C G Brauns, Royal Staff Corps. Originally enclosed in a letter dated 15 May 1850 (for which, see WO 78/1006/22-23)
