Nature of request
Griffith Yonge states that he was in full and peaceful possession of the prebend of Garthbrengy in the collegiate church of Abergwili long before the statute of provisions made at Westminster in the King's thirteenth year, by the provision of Pope Urban, ratified by the King; and that afterwards the current Bishop of St David's made collation of the prebend to one Edmund Warham. Edmund, seeing that he had no right to the prebend, in collusion with one Andrew Hore, purchased the King's letters of presentation for Andrew by a false suggestion, and also a writ of quare impedit in the King's name against the Bishop and Edmund. The King had judgment to recover the presentation against the Bishop and Edmund, so that Andrew has been instituted and inducted and Griffith expelled, without being party to the process or answering for his possession. A writ of praemunire facias has also been sued at Andrew's request against Griffith, Richard ap Llywelyn, William ap Llywelyn and Thomas Llowyd in respect of this prebend, wrongly and to their perpetual destruction. He asks the King to order the Chancellor to have Andrew come before him in Chancery, to show the King's title of presentation and the recovery; and, if the King has no right of presentation or recovery, to repeal them. He also requests a supersedeas to the justices of Common Pleas in the writ of praemunire facias, until the King's right of presentation and recovery has been determined.
