[This petition is badly damaged.]John Whithalles states that the King's father granted [him] the lands, tenements, rents and profits of one John Mote of Meilhan, rebel, up to a certain valuation, but that he has been ruined by defending the land of Guyenne and resisting the King's enemies, and has nothing to live on without the King's aid. He asks the King [to confirm the gift of] these lands, tenements, rents and profits at their current value, or at the value he can get from them, and also a new gift, in recompense for his service.
