Nature of request
Robert Bays requests remedy, stating that, while he was at Calais in the king's service, Grace and Kenyngton took and threatened his chaplain, William, until he brought them a bond for £80 out of the petitioner's house. Bays has sued this before the mayor and aldermen without success, and Grace has since brought a fictitious suit of trespass against Pasforde, to whom the bond was made along with Bays, and that this bill is pending and Pasforde detained in prison.
