Description

Sudan. Two maps of 'Asobri' showing (12) the ground patrolled by the Arab battalion 22-27 April 1898, the direction of march of the Dervish forces 25 April, 'Jebel Gutta' and the nature of the terrain; and (13) Asobri Fort and the adjacent area. Scales: (12) 1 inch to 3.5 miles; (13) no scale shown. Compass indicator on (12). Signed by E H Wilkinson, Commanding Arab Battalion, and originally accompanying his report dated 29 April 1898 on patrolling duties performed by the Arab Battalion in the neighbourhood of Asobri. Dimensions of sheets: (12) 31 cm x 18 cm; (13) 33 cm x 21 cm.
