- The petitioner states that he petitioned the King's council at Northampton about his land at Aber, which he holds freely of the gift of Llywelyn, Prince of Wales, and was answered that the Justice should inquire into the truth of this, whether the land was given freely or for an annual rent, and inform the court, and that in the meantime nothing would be asked from him for the land; but because the Justice, Hugh de Audley, was removed from his post, he could not do this. He asks that a similar command might be given to Roger de Mortimer, Justice of Wales, as he is being harassed and distrained by the King's ministers for the annual rent.
