Monpesat requests letters of confirmation of the grant made to him by the earl of Kent of the lands forfeited by Arnold Bernard de Preissac, a rebel, in compensation for the destruction and loss of his estates in the Gascon war as he is disturbed by the seneschal of Gascony and the constable of Bordeaux. He also asks that he can hold the land quit of the account for anything in surplus of £500, as the land that he lost was valued at £800.

Nature of endorsement

The lands of Bernard were forfeit and assigned to Monpesat, and let him keep them up to the value of £800 provided that he account for any surplus with the constable of Bordeaux.
