Nature of request
John de Cherleton requests that he be restored to the manor of Plas Dinas, in the king's hands following the forfeiture of Owain, son of Thomas Rothryk. He states that the manor was entailed by fine in 1341 to Thomas Rothryk and his wife Cecily, with remainder to their heirs, but was forfeited due to Owain's adherence to the king's French enemies. The petitioner, as next heir, has now reached full age, and asks that he may be allowed to succeed, notwithstanding the judgment against Owain.

[on face] The king has granted this at the request of the Earl of Arundel.Pole.[on dorse] Direct a writ of mandamus to the escheator of Shropshire to enquire what lands and tenements Owain held on the day of his death, etc.
