- Reginald Courteys states that the king's late uncle, the Duke of Lancaster, granted him the keeping of his inn in Calais for life without rent, on condition that he make all repairs at his own expense, which he has done. This agreement has been confirmed by Gaunt's son, the Duke of Hereford, and the petitioner now requests that the king also ratify this.

- The agreement between Courteys and the late Duke of Lancaster was ratified on 1 April 1399. Perhaps not surprisingly, this does not mention the Duke of Hereford's ratification, but is almost certainly the result of this petition.
