[This petition is damaged and largely illegible.]Roger de Horsley requests an allowance in his account for his costs and expenses for the repair of a castle of which he was constable [this would seem to be either Bamburgh or Berwick], in the time of the King's father.

Note
Dated with reference to the mention of King Edward, the King's father and to CCR 1333-7 p.260, which is dated 26 September 1334. Roger de Horsley was appointed constable of Bamburgh castle in 1314, of Berwick castle in 1317 and of Bamburgh again in 1318. He probably died in 1340 (Northumberland Petitions pp.62-3).
