[Much of this petition is illegible.]The people of Maelor Saesneg ask to be received into the King's peace, promising to serve him against his enemies.
Nature of endorsement
Roger de Mortuo Mari is to be given a patent to receive the Welsh people of Maelor Saesneg into the King's pleasure; and he is afterwards to deliver them to Roger Extraneus because they are near Ellesmere. And Roger is to be ordered to receive them etc.
