Nature of request
John Maryot and Joan Maryot state that there is an error in the record and process of a case between them and the late John Catte, and Edmund Wynter, concerning a trespass committed by them and John against Edmund. They ask that the record and process might be brought before the King and lords in the present parliament, with all things concerning them, so that the error might be corrected; and that Edmund might be ordered to be at the next parliament, to hear the error and to do and receive what will then be decided; and that justice might further be done to them.

Note
William Cheyne was Chief Justice of King's Bench between 1424 and 1439, during which period parliaments was sitting on 9 November on four occasions, in 1427, 1429, 1433 and 1435. SC 8/128/6390 appears to date the events of the case concerned here to 1434, thus suggesting that the petition dates to 1435, as noted on the guard.
