- The response dates to 1318 as the earl of Lancaster was ordered not to attempt anything against the king's peace in the lands on 16 June 1318, and by 1 January 1319 the earl of Lancaster received a licence to hold the lands for life (CCR 1313-18, p.554; CPR 1317-21, pp.263-4).
