Nature of request
Nichole requests the king's letters to make attachments along the coast of the people of Holland, Zeeland, nobles and commoners according to the law merchant and maritime. Nichole's ship was robbed by Haynessone and his companions who killed two of his valets, and despite several requests for redress to the count of Holland and Zeeland, and after his death, the count of Hainault, nothing has been done.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is accounted by letters patent to the community of Great Yarmouth that the counts have been several times requested to do justice to the petitioner, and the counts have done nothing then let it be ordered by a writ in Chancery to distrain goods and chattels of noble and common men of Holland and Zeeland until the sum contained in the letters testimonial according to the law and customs used by merchants.

The petition dates to 1302 as the bailiffs of Great Yarmouth were ordered to seize the goods and wares of the merchants of Holland and Zeeland and keep them until the petitioner was satisfied on 28 July 1302 (CCR 1296-1302, p.542).
