- The canons requests remedy and that they might be able to take their sustenance from the churches, lands and possessions which were of the abbey of Jedburgh. The canons were driven with their abbot out of Scotland by Bruce after the battle of Bannockburn, and received their sustenance from the abbey's churches and lands in England until the abbot's death when the same were taken into the king's hand and the canons are poor and ruined.

- Let the tenements contained in the petition be delivered to William de Uston to find sustenance up to 20 marks for the canons, and he should answer to the king for any more he is able to levy.
