Preston requests remedy as the king's ministers at Rockingham castle have cut his wood of Gretton and taken it to the castle, and the wood is destroyed and he is unable to pay his farm.Copy of a charter of King John granting the manor of Gretton to Walter de Preston, dated 13 September.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ in Chancery to the steward of the Forest between the bridges of Oxford and Stamford to make complete remedy upon the contents in the petition and to make amends for the damage done to the petitioner by the king's ministers.
