Nature of request
Copy of a writ of Edward III commanding Wake to examine the matter of the St Remy inheritance and to do justice. Eastfield and other heirs recovered the inheritance which had come into the hand of Edward I by the forfeiture of St Remy, but which the late king restored to St Remy for his service, the lands subsequently being taken into the king's hand after St Remy's death. However, on the restoration of the tenements the Eastfields and others have complained that not all of the lands were restored to them.

The copy of a writ is dated to c. 1334 with the petition to which it was formerly attached (SC 8/172/8599). The writ is dated in its dating clauses to the 2 December 1331 and 12 February 1332.
