Loid requests that he not be disinherited from the advowson of the church of Llanrhystyd which is vacant and which has always belonged to his ancestors. Hugh Godard, lieutenant of the justice in North Wales
Richard de Piwefesdon.
Note
Dated on the guard to 1293-1328, with reference to CPR 1292-1301, p. 405, a 1299 grant to David, bishop of St Davids, mentioning the king's grant to Thomas, bishop of St Davids, of the advowson of Llanrhystyd which had fallen into the king's hands by the forfeiture of its patron. Rees, Petitions Relating to Wales, pp. 276-7, dates the petition to 1299-1300, believing that it must have post-dated this grant. This petition is probably detached from SC 8/158/7854.
