Nature of request
Seyntmor requests remedy as he brought a writ of account against Cockerel and he was attached, but was subsequently rescued by Copping and others by force and arms, and Seyntmor's men were taken, imprisoned and ill-treated. He requests this remedy as he was in the king's service and was a keeper of the peace and this was done in contempt of the king. He also requests a commission of oyer and terminer and that because the trespass occurred on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk that the inquisition be taken of those of Norfolk and Suffolk.

The petition dates to 1298 when a commission of oyer and terminer was issued to examine the complaint of the petitioner, and the Chancery warrant in which the petition was probably enclosed dates to 17 May 1298 (26 Edw. I) (CPR 1292-1301, p.380; C 81/16, no.1546).
