Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Bute: he encloses a passage [SP 87/40/77] from Bute's letter of 5 June [SP 87/40/69] which could not be deciphered and asks for it to be re-sent. He has advised the reigning duke of Brunswick that if he cannot defend both Brunswick and Wolfenbüttel, he should concentrate his forces into one or the other. The reigning duke has decided to defend Brunswick. Ferdinand is more concerned for Münster, Lippstadt and Hamelin. He speculatates on the possible actions of Soubise and de Broglie and his options.
