'Eastern Turkey in Asia, Syria and Western Persia [now Iran]': map showing mountains, defiles, rivers, lakes, swamps, seas, wadis, ancient canals (dry), towns, villages, castles, bridges, principal routes, railways, telegraphs and boundaries. Reference tables. Conical projection with standard parallels 32° and 40° (to nearest degree). Published by the Royal Geographical Society 1910. Railways inserted to November 1917. Printed by the [War Office] 12 July 1918. A printed note reads 'International Boundaries as in July, 1914'. Coloured, MS additions show British and French spheres of influence, Arab, Kurd, Mixed Race and debatable lands, proposed permanent garrisons, aircraft landing grounds, railways built or sanctioned, the approximate eastern boundary of Mesopotamia if Iraq is retained and the approximate eastern boundary if the present, temporary delimitation is confirmed and the Mosul Vilayet included. Originally illustrating the memorandum 'Mesopotamian Expenditure' dated 1 May 1920 by the Secretary of State for War.
