Stair to Carteret, protesting at the reprimand over his letter to Prince William of Hesse. He has seen a letter in cipher from the British court on the emperor's proposals and the king's answer. The Dutch intend to send a commissary to Dunkirk independently of the British. He encloses a letter [SP 87/9/65] from the king of Prussia. His conversation with the abbé de la Ville. He encloses a letter [SP 87/9/66] from Mr Renard in Amsterdam. Dated at The Hague. ff. 128-131
