- The petition dates to c. 1335 as references to the petitioner in the close rolls and in Rot. Scot., vol. I both date to this year, and it seems likely that the petition is not too long after the recapture of Berwick (CPR 1334-8::p.125; Rot. Scot., vol. I::p.388a).
