Description

Simon Barre (Barr).
Name(s)
Barre (Barr), Simon
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Simon Barre states that he has sued William Trussel of Peatling and Robert de Markyate, parson of the church of Ecton to recover certain tenements in Great Billing, Northamptonshire, which he claims as his right and inheritance, and a writ was sent to take these tenements into the King's hand for a default that William and Robert made in court at the quinzaine of Hilary last; but since then the King has taken the tenements into his hand because William and Robert rebelled against him, so that the previous writ, which is returnable at the quinzaine of Trinity next, cannot be carried out. He requests grace and a remedy, so that he is not barred from his right.
Nature of endorsement
Because the day has not yet come, he is therefore to wait.
