Nature of request

The petitioners state that they have of the gift of the King's ancestors, two carucates of land in free alms for two prebends in Colchester in Essex, but that one Peter de Cusance, a layman who has the prebends at farm has sold a great part of the lands to one John de Pointon, for himself and his heirs in fee in perpetuity. They request a remedy.

Nature of endorsement

The Escheator is to be ordered by writ of Chancery to inquire into these alienations and to return the inquisition before the Chancellor.
