The people of the lord of Lesparre ask for the release of their lord and others from prison. They state that Lesparre and other English knights are held in prison for the son of the Count of Denia, and they ask that they be put on the first ship back to Bordeaux, as they need to return to prison in Spain.

Dated on the guard to? 1378-80, with reference to various other petitions. This is clearly one of the many petitions relating to the long-running captivity of the son of the Count of Denia, captured at the Battle of Najera on 3 April 1367. The petition referred to here is probably that at SC 8/122/6051.
