Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: Messrs. Derenthal and Winterzingerode send their thanks. He thanks Holdernesse for the information he has sent, which confirms that the French are being reinforced. The five free battalions are complete and he encloses their state [SP 87/37/70]. He wishes them to be called the British Legion, and names the battalion commanders. He will send a table of details of all the officers in the army. Dated at Paderborn. ff. 165, 166
