[To Carteret] from Honeywood: he has intelligence that communication between Dunkirk and Ostend has been interrupted and that firing has been heard. Report of ships in the road. [Allied] reinforcements have been sent to Ostend. He requests that an infantry general be sent to Ostend. Arenberg has gone to The Hague; Honeywood doubts the wisdom of this, and hopes for Wade's imminent arrival. The French will be early in the field. Dated (OS) at Brussels.
