Description

[To Carteret] from Honeywood: he has intelligence that communication between Dunkirk and Ostend has been interrupted and that firing has been heard. Report of ships in the road. [Allied] reinforcements have been sent to Ostend. He requests that an infantry general be sent to Ostend. Arenberg has gone to The Hague; Honeywood doubts the wisdom of this, and hopes for Wade's imminent arrival. The French will be early in the field. Dated (OS) at Brussels. PS. that Arenberg has just arrived. ff. 5, 6
