Description

Dr Cockbourne, Physician of the Greenwich Hospital. He agrees that the Elixir of Vitriol would be a good treatment for Scorbutical cases and for others and recommended it to be included in the sea chests in 1732. He thinks the College of Physicians have not asked the right question as they ought to be looking for a method of preventing scurvy not curing it.
