Letter from Thomas Gordon, Clerk to the Chief Baron, to Evan Nepean, stating that a report for John Harrison has been made out and already passed to him. There is also 1 individual petition (Lord Fielding) on behalf of John Harrison, convicted at the Shropshire 'Autumn' Assizes, for stealing. Grounds for clemency: first offence, good behaviour while in prison and applied himself to his trade there (architect), he refused to comply with a break out at the prison and in fact discovered and prevented a breakout, is in poor health which is a danger to his life, and an earlier (respectable) petition had received no reply.
