Report of Edward Bearcroft on Robert Williams, convicted at the 'Autumn' Great Sessions for Denbighshire in 1789, for a felony. Grounds for clemency: he uncovered and prevented a conspiracy of other prisoners to escape, he was an example to other the behaviour prisoners, he is also in danger from others prisoners and is currently in 'closer confinement' to keep them apart, and there is only a short time of his sentence to run. Initial sentence: 3 years hard labour in the house of correction. Recommendation: free pardon. Folios 101-102.
