Thomas de Wymondham, treasurer, and the barons of the Exchequer, to Henry III: we have audited the accounts of Roger de Leybourne for his expenses in fortifying and keeping your castles of Rochester, Nottingham and the Tower of London for all the time he had custody of them; for keeping the peace in 'Wald', Huntingdon, Essex and other places; for taking and keeping the towns of Winchelsea and Sandwich; for going on negotiations to the counts of St. Pol and Bologna; Roger has overspent by £3904. 10s. 1d plus a halfpenny, which is owed to the same Roger, diverse creditors and merchants in diverse places as the same Roger has said.
