Description

  • Defence of Jamaica in preparation for possible attack from French and Spanish fleets

  • settlement of Rattan
  • benefits of enlisting 'people of colour' for service on mainland
  • reports from Province of Nicaragua, severe sickness of troops at St. John's, delays, poor weather
  • recommends future avoidance of serving rum to troops.
