- The abbot and convent request a licence to acquire Headingley as although they have a licence to purchase £20 of land as long as it is not held of the king in chief, they have only bought a portion of this, and have been offered the manor of Headingley by John de Calverley but those of the Chancery will not grant them a licence.1)
