- Gilbert Fitz Stephen states that Solomon de Rochester, in the last eyre in Devon, agreed an annual rent of 100s with his father Richard Fitz Stephen, payable to one of his clerks, John de Hanlo. He is now demanding the arrears of this pension in the name of his clerk. Since the taking of such pensions by justices and their clerks is forbidden by statute, Gilbert requests a remedy.
