Hansard requests a new warrant in order to allow the Mint at Calais to continue its work. He has heard that the Master of the Mint, Bartholomew Seman, had died, and he dare not proceed with production until a new warrant has been granted.

Note
Bartholomew Seman and Bartholomew Goldbeter are clearly the same man, evident from E 101/301/21. CPR 1429-36, pp.254-6 is dated 16 February 1433, and refers to trials made between 24 January 1424 and 3 August 1431, for which Goldbeter is specified as Master of the Mint. Presumably the petition dates from the intervening period.
