- Fisherman of Cromer and Blakeney in Norfolk.

- Nature of request
- The petitioners urgently seek licence to pursue their trade of fishing for the common profit of the realm, for which they will make fine with the king for the duration of six months, because the season for their trade is almost past in consideration of the duration of their voyage to the coasts of Denmark and Norway, and if not then the season will pass and they will be ruined, as will the royal purveyors of fish etc. They state that along with other vills in the region their case was recently considered by the lords and commons of parliament, that the great labour of the fisheries are both profitable and necessary to the petitioners, lords, commons, and the whole realm, and that their vessels called doggers, along with the mariners and fishermen of the same, should not be delayed by the king's officers unless there is a royal passage etc. Now, notwithstanding this they have been delayed and held to their great cost and that of the realm. Their vessels are small for the greater part, as of portage of 10 or 12 tons, and some of 18 tons, and unsuitable for loading horses etc.
- Nature of endorsement
- It is agreed in parliament that the fishermen, for themselves and their vessels and mariners appurtenant to them should voyage as before time, except for their vessels suitable for loading horses and of the portage of 20 tons and more etc., to serve the king in this necessary voyage soon to be undertaken by the Bishop of Norwich and his host. Those men and vessels not proved sufficient of other vessels called doggers should go about their business of fishing without any delay, for the profit of the realm etc.
