Nature of request
The petitioner urgently seeks that no assize should be taken in his case and that he should have fifteen days notice, as it is the custom of the law that in any writ of plea of land to have reasonable warning of fifteen days. He also seeks recovery of his estate and states that recently John Bonville and his wife brought an assize of Novel Disseisin against him of tenements in West Kington in Wiltshire. He was then established in Cornwall and unaware of the aforesaid assize. He was attached to the Saturday and to the following Tuesday, and thus the assize passed by his default without reasonable warning to his great loss and harm, and in danger of his disinheritance.
