Nature of request
Henry de Cobeham states that he was Constable of Dover Castle and Warden of the Cinque Ports from 16 October 34 Edward I until 13 September 1 Edward II, and that he should have received £87 13s. 4d. in part payment of the £300 annually granted to him by his commission, but this sum is still in arrears. He requests payment or assignment in the debts he owes the King.
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the council that the petition is just, if it pleases the King.His commission and his receipt are to be examined by the Treasurer, and how much is due to him for the time of the present King, and how much for that of his father. And the Treasurer is further to do what seems to him is reasonably to be done.
