Bole requests remedy as Baldwin and others came by force and arms to his house and took his chattels that they found there away so that he is totally impoverished and dare not sue his right because of the alliance made between them 'for life and death'.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the mayor and sheriffs of London that when they have heard the plea on the contents of the petition they should do justice. And if the cannot do this then Bereford, Staunton and Toutheby or two of them are to be assigned to hear and determine the trespass.

The petition probably dates to 1319 as all of the individuals cited in this petition by the petitioner are the subject of a commission concerning their conspiracy, they being cappers, to prevent the manufacture and import of caps, and the matter concerning the petition is perhaps linked to this, though it is nowhere overtly stated (CPR 1317-21, p.369).
