Nature of request
Richard Organ states that more than seven years ago John Macclesfeld, clerk, purchased all his lands and tenements in Essex from him in exchange for 300 gold marks and an annual pension, according to certain deeds made between them, but that, once he had the lands, he stole the deeds from him with force and arms, and still holds them - and does not pay the pension. He has sued in the court of the King's father at common law, and before the Mayor of London, where the arrangement was drawn up, and to the last two parliaments, to no effect. He asks the King to order the Mayor to summon all those who are privy to this before him, and to inquire into the matter, and to have the agreements brought before him, and do justice, so that Richard can receive what is his, and damages.
