- The petition is dated on the guard to c. 1298-c. 1301 on the basis of an unconnected grant to the petitioner and letters ordering the payment of wages to the petitioner (CPR 1292-1301, p.365; Roles Gascons, III, pp.550-1 (nos. 5008 & 5010). There is considerable latitude for error in this dating.
