Ireland.
Nature of request
Balibyn requests that for the service that he has done the king and his father that a debt that is now due in the Irish Exchequer for prisoners that escaped from Drogheda castle be withdrawn from the rolls, and that he be able to pay the remainder in instalments at the king's will.
Nature of endorsement
Let the truth of the matter be enquired of along with his service to the king, and the king is to be advised, and afterwards will say his will.
Note
The petition has no supporting evidence, and has been dated by the guard notes to c. 1320 as much of the contents of this file are of around that date. As the petition is endorsed in French it is quite likely to be after 1322, so a date of c. 1322 has been adopted but this must be treated with caution.
