Description

R Irvine to Holdernesse: the 'person in question' considers the most likely landing places to be Milford Haven or the Clyde. He hopes that Admiral Hawke will have found the French fleet in Quiberon Bay on or about 19 November. 24 battalions from the Meuse are expected in Dunkirk. Thurot's squadron sailed from Gothenburg on 14 November. The Begon, which was separated from the squadron in a storm, has arrived badly damaged at Dunkirk. Dated at Flushing. PS. on the battle of Quiberon Bay, of which he encloses a French account [SP 87/31/32]. ff. 221-223
