Holdernesse to R Irvine: Irvine has misunderstood their conversation after the withdrawal of the lords of the council. The person will be given protection in England and reward for his services, but must give proof. £20,000 is ridiculous and not to be thought of. Regarding another correspondent, he is to be cautious in using his name. Dated at Whitehall. ff. 198, 199
