Description

R Irvine to [Under Secretary] James Wallace: three thousand men are about to begin work on the harbour and fortifications of Ostend. Preparations at Ghent and Bruges for the reception of French troops. Two frigates are still in Ostend but awaiting a chance to slip away to Dunkirk. Ransom of English fishing boats in Dunkirk. Dated at Flushing. ff. 3, 4
