Description

Amherst to Holdernesse: journal of the army from 15 to 19 December, including an attack on Zell which failed for want of pontoons. He quotes from two reports in French dated at Magdeburg on 16 and 17 December of prisoners, captured guns, colours etc. at the Prussian victory at Leuchen. He then quotes from a letter from the king of Prussia claiming the battle as a greater victory than Rossbach or Blenheim. Dated at camp at Altenhagen. ff. 182-185
