Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition dates to c. 1318 as, as Fraser notes, initial liveries of wine were made to impoverished Northumbrian knights in November 1318 (Northumberland Petitions, p.148 (no.122); CPR 1317-21, p.247). In addition the reference to the defense of Tynemouth priory against Gilbert de Middleton confirms this date, Middleton being executed in 1318.
