Walter de Useflet requests a remedy for £20 demanded of him for a buck he is accused of taking in the Forest of Galtres during the last war in England, when he was a retainer of John de Eyvill, who had the charter of King Henry that he and all his company would be quit of all trespasses committed during the war.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.He is to come to Chancery, and if it can be established by the record of John de Eyvill that he was of his household in time of war, and by the record of the justices of the forest that he was amerced in wartime for a trespass at the same time, he is to have a writ that he is to be quit.
